About This BCBA Prep Site
An independent, free study resource for the BCBA exam — built around a blueprint-weighted, timed practice mock, honest about what it is and what it is not.
What This Site Is
Cadence BCBA Prep is an independent, free study resource for the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) exam. It exists for one reason: the exam is not only a content test, it is a timed test. On the 6th edition you answer 185 items — 175 scored plus 10 unscored pilot items — in four hours at a Pearson VUE center. Divide the clock by the items and you get a budget of roughly 78 seconds per question. Most candidates study the material and never once rehearse that budget, then meet it cold on test day. This site is built to close that gap.
The centerpiece is a free, in-browser timed mock that runs against the same 78-second-per-item budget the real exam imposes, with instant feedback and a written rationale on every question. Around it sit a study guide mapped to the TCO 6th-edition blueprint and a stage-by-stage look at the path to the credential. No account, no paywall, no email gate to reach the practice.
How the Practice Is Built
The practice is weighted, not random. The BCBA content outline (TCO 6th ed.) assigns each of the nine domains a share of the exam, and two carry the most weight: Concepts & Principles (B) and Behavior-Change Procedures (G), at 14% each. Our item bank is sampled to those weights, so the questions you drill arrive in roughly the proportion the exam tests them — you spend your time where the points are, not spread evenly across topics that are worth a fraction of the score.
Every item is written to teach on the way past: pick an answer, see whether it was right, and read why the correct option is correct and the tempting one is wrong. The timed mock adds the clock on top — a per-item budget you can watch, a running total, and a forward-only flow that trains the exam's real discipline: answer what you know, skip what stalls you, and come back with the minutes you banked.
What This Site Is Not
We are also deliberate about what we do not claim. Exam fees, pass thresholds, eligibility rules and test scheduling are set by the BACB and change over time, so this site does not publish those numbers — a stale figure copied from a forum is how a candidate wastes a year on the wrong program. For every official requirement, we point you to the BACB (bacb.com), where the current answer actually lives. We make no promise that practicing here will make you pass; the exam measures judgment you build over your degree, coursework and fieldwork. What we can do is make sure the clock never surprises you.
